What Can Begin to Change When You Feel Safe Enough to Do the Work
Therapy isn’t about fixing you - you were never broken. It’s about understanding the patterns that once helped you survive and gently learning new ways of living that feel more aligned now. This is the foundation of Andrea’s affirming, trauma-informed work with LGBTQIA2S+ adults. You’ll work with a therapist who understands that your identity is not something to be explained, but to be celebrated.
What you experienced growing up wasn’t your responsibility. How you care for yourself now is something you get to choose.
Many LGBTQIA2S+ clients report that therapy helps them discover not just relief but capacity and choice they didn’t know was possible. Clients often share that through this work, they begin to:
Respond instead of react in difficult situations
Set boundaries without guilt or shutdown
Stop blaming themselves for patterns that were never their fault
Navigate relationships with more honesty and less fear
Understand the deeper “why” behind their triggers
Reconnect with parts of themselves they had to hide
Let go of survival strategies that no longer serve them
You don’t have to become someone new . You get to come home to who you already are.
