DO YOU MEET WITH CLIENTS VIRTUALLY OR IN PERSON?
We provide limited IN PERSON sessions in Corona. We also provide VIRTUAL services throughout California depending on your needs.
HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS AND HOW OFTEN DO WE MEET?
Individual sessions are 50 minutes in length, while couples and family sessions are 60 minutes in length. Services tend to be more effective when we meet 2-4 times per month. Based on your symptoms and goals, we may decide to meet more frequently or less often.
WILL I FEEL BETTER AFTER THERAPY?
Although most of our clients have reported a decrease in symptoms and better outlook in life after a few sessions, there are several components in treatment that can effect outcomes. We encourage and welcome feedback to better be able to work with you and increase your chances of meeting your goals.
DOES EVERYONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCED CHILDHOOD TRUAMA NEED THERAPY AS AN ADULT?
We believe anyone can benefit from therapy if they are ready to make changes in their daily life. Individuals that have experienced childhood trauma are more likely to experience negative long-term psychological and medical challenges. Visit our BLOG page for more information on this topic (ACES study).
What Do LPCC, LMFT, and LCSW Stand For?
LPCC stands for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. This is one of three master’s-level licenses for therapists regulated by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). LPCCs are trained to help clients understand and improve symptoms, habits, and thought patterns that affect their mental health and overall well-being.
LMFT stands for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Also regulated by the BBS, LMFTs are trained to focus on relational and interpersonal dynamics. They often work with couples, families, and individuals to strengthen communication, resolve conflict, and build healthier relationships.
LCSW stands for Licensed Clinical Social Worker. This is the third BBS-recognized license at the master’s level. LCSWs are trained to provide therapy while also understanding the broader context of a client’s environment and resources. They often combine clinical support with advocacy, resource navigation, and systems-level thinking to help clients thrive.
What Does It Mean When You See an “A” in Front of the Acronym?
When you see an A before the title (for example, APCC, AMFT, or ASW), it means the therapist is an associate. Associates hold a master’s degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work and are actively working toward licensure. They practice under the supervision of a licensed therapist (LPCC, LMFT, or LCSW) while gaining the hours and experience required to become independently licensed.
